The PWD, National Highways have point blank pointed out that it is for the authorities such as the Traffic police and the Transport department to tackle illegal parking of vehicles along the NH66.
Executive Engineer, Dattaprasad Kamat told The Goan that it is not feasible for the National Highways to notify no parking zones on the road along the Navelim-Cuncolim stretch of the highway.
He, however hastened to add that law enforcement agencies such as the Traffic police and the RTO can initiate action if the parking by these vehicles along the roadside obstructs visibility and pose nuisance to the motorists.
“The PWD cannot go on notifying the highway stretch as no parking and it is for the law enforcement agencies to act and stop parking along the road side”, he said.
