Blame it on the Margao civic body or otherwise, the old bus stand at Margao has turned into an eyesore, thanks to the rampant dumping of waste on the stand.
The last two days has seen a portion of the bus stand alongside the Margao police station road littered with waste. It could not be gathered whether the Margao Municipal Council has defaulted in clearing the area and lift the waste or the waste is being dumped at the bus stand by unscrupulous persons.
Take note, the old Margao bus stand plays host to the fast food gaddas, including wadda pav and omlette rassa pav and the non-lifting of the waste has only turned the entire area into an eyesore.
Visitors to the Margao police station also complained of the waste lying unattended at the old bus stand, with questions being raised who is responsible for the state of affairs, the Margao Municipal Council for its failure to lift the daily waste or the unscrupulous persons disposing of their waste in the open.
Margao Municipal officials were not available for comment on Thursday being a holiday, but questions are being raised whether the MMC workers would descend at the old bus stand on Friday, also a holiday, or whether the waste would be allowed to rot at the site till Saturday.
