Rash driving in Vasco injures two

VASCO:

A case of rash and negligent driving has been reported at Vasco Police Station following a road mishap near St Andrew's Church, Vasco, on December 2.

The incident occurred at about 6.08 pm, when a car, driven by an unknown individual, allegedly collided with an Activa scooter, causing injuries to the riders.

According to the complainant, Roopesh Nair of Merces-Vaddem in Vasco, his wife was riding the scooter (GA-03-AD-4289) with their son, Akshit Nair, as a pillion rider.

The car, reportedly being driven in a rash and negligent manner from the Old Bus Stand towards Vaddem, hit the scooter from behind near the church, causing the duo to fall onto the road. Both sustained injuries due to the impact.

The police have registered an offence under Sections 281, 125(a), and 125(b) of BNSS along with Sections 134(a) and 134(b) of the Motor Vehicles Act.

Head Constable Sujay Naik of Vasco Police Station is carrying out further investigation under the supervision of PI Kapil Nayak and guidance of Mormugao DySP Gurudas Kadam.
