The remote wards of Vichundrem, Kurpem and other areas in Netravali village experienced significant disruption due to the uprooting of several roadside trees on Monday evening due to pre-monsoon showers accompanied by gusty winds that swept through the region.
The uprooted trees caused several roads to remain blocked in the village, resulting in temporary obstruction of traffic movement.
Incidents of power failure were reported in the village with the power supply department working on their level best to restore power supply in the affected areas
There were, however, no reports of personal injuries or any significant loss to private or public property.
Considering the road blockade at several places, Netravali Sarpanch Bunda Varak promptly mobilised local youth and personnel from the Fire and Emergency Services. Their combined efforts facilitated the clearing of the blocked roads, restoring normalcy to the transportation network within the village.
