The Gaonkar community has objected to the decision given by the Sattari Deputy Collector Pallavi Mishra in the controversy that started over the worship of Sakhaleshwar, the custodian of Shri Bhumika Devi Temple.
The Gaonkar community on Sunday informed the Chief Minister Pramod Sawant about the injustice done to them.
The people of the community said that the Chief Minister has assured that everything will be done legally through the Deputy Collector. On Saturday, the festival was held peacefully with a heavy police presence. At present, tight security has been deployed in the area around Poriem Devasthan. Under the leadership of DYSP Jivba Dalvi, there is tight security at various places.
Pallavi Mishra filed a case against five people The local police were instructed to do so. Accordingly, a total of five people have been charged was filed. Similarly, Section 144 was imposed in Poriem Devasthan premises to prevent tension during the traditional saptha celebrated on Saturday and the traditional Gavalan Kala celebrated on Sunday. The temple was ordered to be closed till December 24. This order was strongly opposed by others except Gaonkar community. At present the situation in other areas is completely under control.
Meanwhile, Shri Bhumika Sakhaleshwar temple traditional saptha was celebrated with enthusiasm. A large police force was deployed during the saptha.
Around 1000 Sevakari Mahajans protested strongly throughout the night on Friday after the process of filing a case against five persons of the Majik Mahajan group including the closure of the temple and imposition of Section 144 was taken up. After that, the Deputy District Magistrate withdrew the order. Therefore, the traditional saptha was celebrated on Saturday.
