SANGUEM
If the recent Grand Housie created a buzz in Salcete, the excitement has now shifted to the hinterland further down south, with a similar ‘Grand Housie’ offering cash prizes worth a staggering Rs 20 lakh in Sanguem town on March 30.
The Grand Housie is expected to attract not just locals but people from neighbouring areas, eager to participate in the competition and the chance to win big.
The Grand House organised by 'Sanguem Boys' on the occasion of Gudi Padwa is part of a Konkani Musical Show featuring Goa's leading singers and musicians at the Sanguem bus stand.
Chief guest at the event is Social Welfare Minister and Sanguem MLA Subhash Phal Dessai, while the special invitee is former Sanguem mayor Sanjay Raikar.
While the Konkani Musical Show starts at 6 pm, the Grand House will begin at 8.30 pm.
Three housie coupons will be given to a participant for Rs 1,000 and six prizes will be on offer.
Whopping cash prizes will be awarded to the lucky winners of the Full House (Rs 10 lakh), second full house (Rs 5 lakh), third full house (Rs 2 lakh), Jaldi 5 (Rs 1 lakh), Jaldi 7 (Rs 1 lakh) and Horizontal line (Rs 1 lakh).
Incidentally, only participants above 18 years will be allowed to play the housie.
Posters advertising the Grand House have been circulated in Sanguem, adding to the excitement in the area.
This Grand House in Sanguem follows from a growing trend in the region, particularly in Salcete, where Housie games in recent times have captivated audiences with their substantial cash prizes and engaging sports and cultural shows.
The recent surge in popularity of Housie games throughout Salcete has demonstrated a significant community interest, drawing hundreds of participants keen on winning lucrative rewards with prizes amounting to lakhs of rupees.
The success of these events has not gone unnoticed. Organisers in Sanguem aim to ride this wave of enthusiasm by offering one of the highest cash prizes in the region, effectively making it the talk of the town.
Historically, Sanguem has established a reputation for high-end prize money and exciting giveaways associated with cultural festivities, especially during Ganesh Chaturthi.
The tradition of distributing donation coupons during this festival has attracted locals, providing opportunities for winning vehicles and substantial cash rewards.
This legacy has set a precedent that the current Housie event aims to build upon, promising to enhance the community's festive spirit and promote local engagement.
With the stakes set high, the excitement in Sanguem is palpable as people hope to be among the lucky six to win big at the Grand Housie.
