CANACONA
A 47-year-old Russian was found dead in a rented guesthouse at Galgibaga.
According to Canacona police, a woman from Galgibaga informed police that a guest, Denis Detkov, staying in her guesthouse was not opening the main door of room and that, the door was locked from the inside.
A police team went to the spot and on confirming that the main door of rented room was locked from the inside, notified the Canacona Fire and Emergency Services (FES).
A FES team broke open the main door of room and noticed that a man was lying dead on the bed in the bedroom.
During enquiry, it was revealed to the police that Denis Detkov had checked into the guesthouse on November 1 at around 1 pm and was staying alone in the room.
Police conducted a panchanama and sent the body to the South Goa District Hospital at Margao for medico legal formalities. Police has informed the Russian consulate to contact his family to conduct medico legal formalities. Further enquiry is being conducted by Calangute PSI Ajit Velip.
