In a move to ensure compliance and transparency, the Sancoale Panchayat has adopted a resolution to seek a technical opinion from the Chief Town Planner of the Town and Country Planning (TCP) Department and the Mormugao Planning and Development Authority (MPDA) concerning the construction license granted to Parmesh Construction (Bhutani Infra).
On Wednesday, Sancoale Panchayat Secretary Orville Vales sent an official letter to the TCP Chief Town Planner, with a copy also marked to MPDA. The letter refers to the development permission issued to Bhutani Infra by MPDA on February 2 and the construction license subsequently issued by the Sancoale Panchayat on February 11.
As per the letter, the request follows a resolution passed by the Panchayat during a special body meeting held on November 12, where members agreed to consult TCP for a technical review of the permissions and licenses granted to Parmesh Construction.
"In terms of the resolution adopted at the special meeting of Sancoale Panchayat on November 12, the Panchayat has resolved that the technical opinion of your department should be obtained in respect of the development permission issued by MPDA and the construction license issued by the Sancoale Panchayat to Parmesh Construction," reads the letter from Secretary Orville Vales.
The letter further states that a true copy of an extract of the meeting minutes of the resolution has been attached for TCP's reference, and the Panchayat is awaiting the department’s technical assessment on the matter.
The Sancoale Panchayat awaits the response from the TCP and MPDA. The technical opinion could potentially influence further action regarding the proposed construction project at Sancoale.
