Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has been named among the top 10 star campaigners for the upcoming Maharashtra Legislative Assembly elections, as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) released a list of 40 campaigners for the polls scheduled on November 20.
Chief Minister Sawant is the only leader from Goa selected by the central leadership to campaign for its candidates in Maharashtra, as well as for the by-election in the Nanded parliamentary constituency.
Even before the release of the list on Saturday, Sawant had been visiting Maharashtra to participate in campaigns and rallies for BJP leaders.
The list is led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP National President J P Nadda, Union Ministers Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, Nitin Gadkari, and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, followed by Sawant.
