After a gap of two years, the Selaulim dam was finally opened to visitors on Saturday to witness the enchanting beauty of the dam and the overflowing waters from the duckbill spillway.

The opening of the gates after a long wait has brought much cheer to the faces of people as the visit to the dam during monsoon brings a different mood altogether.

Entry to the dam was banned for two years after Covid struck.

During monsoon, when the water overflow begins, a large number of people flock to the dam to experience the overflowing duckbill spillway and the botanical garden located on the other side of the Selaulim dam.

The visitors are, however, required to carry a photo identity card to enter the dam area and botanical garden besides paying an entry fee of Rs 20 for adults and Rs 10 for children.
