The Department of English of Vidya Prabodhini College, Porvorim, organised a seminar, titled "The History of Goa's Freedom Struggle with a Special Focus on Literature," commemorating the death anniversary of T.B. Cunha, one of Goa’s foremost freedom fighters, on 26th September.
Led by historian and heritage activist Prajal Sakhardande, the seminar provided an in-depth exploration of the pivotal role literature played in Goa’s freedom movement. Sakhardande, Associate Professor of History at Dhempe College of Arts and Science, captivated the audience with his deep insights into the contributions of literary figures and freedom fighters.
In his presentation, Sakhardande traced the lives and works of prominent figures like T.B. Cunha, highlighting how their writings ignited the flame of nationalism among Goans. "The literature of that era was instrumental in uniting people and shaping public opinion, laying the foundation for a united struggle for freedom," he remarked.
