Dr Pimenta’s Dental Practice has offered senior citizens, free pickup and drop from their residence for all their dental appointments at Fatorda as part of CSR activity.

As this pilot project takes off, the Dr. Pimenta’s Dental Practice will start by covering areas such as Fatorda, Margao, Gogol, Aquem, Navelim, Colva, Borda, Gogol, Raia & Curtorim.

Dr Ambert Pimenta told the media that to avail this facility a patient needs to call on +91-823 77 823 30 and register themselves. “We will have an online/phone consultation to understand the patients dental problems and schedule appointments accordingly”.

He added: “We thought let's try and make a difference to this situation in the one field we are good at, dentistry. From now on and into the foreseeable future, we will offer senior citizens, free pickup and drop from their residence for all their dental appointments at our Fatorda, Margao Goa practice. Our practice is wheelchair friendly, has a lift in the building and operates late hours. Every month we will take on additional senior citizens as we navigate this logistics maze, learning from every patient schedule, trying to keep wait and drive times to the minimum."

He said a simple yet common problem faced by seniors is they are reliant on their loved ones for help in as simple things as transport in Goa.

“Loved ones working 9-6 jobs Monday to Saturday, themselves struggle with the lack of time to take care of their own little ones while attending to their parents. Women back in the day were never encouraged by their spouses to drive and as such, even with a car in the driveway, they are at the mercy of a driver or their children to take them out and about. That you might say was a different generation, but seniors like these face this struggle every day. Whether it is going to the market, or shopping or a visit to the doctor or the dentist, they are reliant on someone else to help them get there and back”, he added.
