A bag belonging to a Russian couple which contained a passport and other belongings was found at Sodiem-Siolim by a local, who later handed it over it to the legal counsel for the Russian Consulate in Goa.
Janardan Golatekar found the bag by the roadside on Tuesday while returning from work. The bad contained a passport, cash, clothes, bank debit, credit cards and travel cards. The bag also had visiting cards of some hotels in Canacona and Dabolim.
Golatekar contacted those hotels but was told that the Russian couple had stayed in these hotels but had moved out. Golatekar also tried to find out if any complaint of missing passports had been lodged by the foreign couple in any police station, but no such complaint had been registered anywhere.
After that Golatekar handed over the bag to the Russian Consulate at Porvorim and requested to hand it over to the original owner.
