Bharatiya Janata Party’s sweep in the Hindi heartland triggered jubilations amongst party workers from South Goa on Sunday.
After news trickled in that the Lotus has bloomed in Rajasthan and Chattisgarh and the party retaining power in Madhya Pradesh, party leaders led by Margao MLA Digambar Kamat, Navelim MLA Ulhas Tuemkar, former MLA Damu Naik and party functionaries assembled near the BJP South Goa office here on Sunday evening to partake in the celebrations.
Congratulating Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and Party President J P Nadda for the victory in the three states of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chattisgarh, Kamat termed it as historic victory for the party, saying the victory has send a message loud and clear that PM Modi’s work has been accepted by the people of the country.
“The election results shows that he people of the country have reposed their faith and confidence in the Prime Minister. The central scheme introduced by the Centre and brought a change in the lives of the common man. The common man is behind the Prime Minister,” he said.
Former MLA Damu Naik said there is no doubt that the BJP will retain power at the centre in the 2024 Lok Sabha, even as he offered sweets to Kamat for the Party’s victory in the three states.
