SP Crime and Cyber Crime Rahul Gupta, IPS, has been awarded the Kendriya Grihamantri Dakshata Padak for his outstanding investigative work. While serving as SP in Tirap district, Arunachal Pradesh, he led the arrest of Vito S Awomi, a high-ranking NSCN (U) insurgent, and two overground workers involved in an extortion network targeting government officials and business owners.
Police Inspector Vinayak Patil, who solved the Rupa Parkar murder case in Curchorem, also received the Union Home Minister’s Medal for Excellence in Investigation.
The Kendriya Grihamantri Dakshata Padak is awarded annually by the Union Home Ministry on Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Jayanti to recognize police personnel for excellence in operations, investigation, forensic science, and intelligence. This year, over 460 police personnel have been honoured, with the announcement made on October 31.
