Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao has urged the student community to imbibe social values and unity to achieve excellence and make a positive impact in the world.

The Congress leader was speaking during the Annual Social Gathering of Government High School-Balli-Quepem. Quepem MLA Altone D’Costa, Chairperson of South Goa Zilla Parishad Sanjana Velip, Sarpanch Govind Fal Dessai, PTA Chairman Mahendra Gosavi, Headmistress Alpa Desai, Madhu Velip, Rupesh Fal Dessai, and Rosario Quadros were present on the occasion.

“Such events give wonderful opportunities to emphasise the significance of social values and unity, which are essential for achieving greatness and making our society proud. Our students should imbibe social values and unity to achieve excellence and make a positive impact in the world,” he said.

He added: “I feel happy because you (students) have shown courage and interest to perform on this stage and mesmerise the audience with your performances. We gather to celebrate the joy of relation, community, and friendship. Schools are the best place where we enjoy and celebrate unity. We need to keep this unity intact.”

Altone D’Costa congratulated all the students and said that their active participation will help them choose the right path in life.

“Parents should always encourage our children to learn things along with their curriculum studies. This helps the growth of children and also brings proud moments for the school and state when they excel in national level competitions and talent searches,” he said.
