Students, tourists, besides the common man had to face the brunt of the road closure by the protestors demanding the arrest of Subhash Velingkar along the stretch between the Old Market-KTC bus stand and the South Goa Collectorate throughout Saturday.

Buses were unable to access the KTC bus stand, which was effectively closed because of the protest, leading to passengers being dropped off near the Collectorate building. Many students and locals were seen walking from the Collectorate to the Communidade building near the Margao Municipal building in search of transportation to southern Goa.

Tourists were caught in the crossfire during the day-long road blockade. One could come across several tourists walking on the road with their luggage for want of transport along the Old market-KTC bus stand road.

This stretch of the road, which was blocked in the morning, was shut by the protestors till late evening, disrupting passenger bus services.

Although the police diverted traffic to alternate routes, passengers wanting to catch a bus to go down South were the most affected.
