OLD GOA
Summoned for a third time at the Old Goa police station in connection with Suleman Siddiqui Khan's video, AAP State president Amit Palekar slammed the police for playing to the tunes of their political masters and denounced it as mere harassment.

Palekar was summoned by the Old Goa police under Sub Section 3 of Section 35 of BNSS 2023 to remain present for questioning at the police station on Friday failing which he would face arrest.

After his questioning was over, Palekar said that the section under which he was summoned applies to a criminal and not the one who is a witness.

"So it clearly shows that this is nothing but harassment by the police at the behest of their political masters," Palekar charged while stating that he had come ready for arrest. "This is going on for too long and the police should arrest me so that the issue is fought in the court," Palekar said while adding that he is thinking of moving the High Court over the harassment.

Palekar then questioned why the police are not probing the second video of Suleman Siddiqui, which he said, was done at gunpoint.

"The police should probe which officer forced Siddiqui, at gunpoint, to shoot the second video instead of unnecessarily summoning me over and over again," Palekar said. "It appears that a person from the government itself is the brain behind the second video and to divert that, the police are harassing me," Palekar alleged.

AAP MLA Cruz Silva also condemned the police for the latest summon which he said is nothing but mere harassment of State party president Amit Palekar.

"This is nothing but sheer harassment by the police and it should stop," Silva demanded and asserted that the investigation is going in the wrong direction as far as the Suleman Siddiqui case is concerned.

"We had demanded and are still demanding that the police should investigate the second video of Siddiqui, which he himself has said that he was forced to shoot at gunpoint," Silva stated and added that AAP is behind Palekar in the fight against such harassment.
