In a bid to create more space for industrial development, the Department of Town and Country Planning (TCP) has increased the maximum plot coverage for industries from 60 per cent to 70 per cent.
Additionally, for plots owned by the Goa Industrial Development Corporation (IDC), the government now has the authority to relax the Floor Area Ratio (FAR), setbacks, parking requirements, and coverage area.
These changes were made by amending the Goa Land Development and Building Construction Regulations, 2010.
Currently, industrial areas have a 60 per cent plot coverage limit, meaning only that portion of the land can be used for industrial purposes. With the increase of 10 per cent, industries will have more room for expansion.
The department clarified that for IDC plots, the FAR, setbacks, parking, and coverage area may be relaxed with government approval.
