PANAJI
Teachers and students from the Government Primary School in Cumbarjua continued their protest for the 7th consecutive day -- incidentally Teachers Day -- opposing the transfer of their headmistress, which they claim was politically motivated.
The protest reached Azad Maidan in Panaji today, where the teachers, students and parents gathered to express their discontent.
They alleged that the transfer was made under pressure from a local MLA, to take revenge on the headmistress.
The teachers are determined to continue their protest until the issue is resolved.
