Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said Goa will be able to bring about a revolution in the health and education sector if the temples across the State take up social work in these sectors.
The Chief Minister further said the government is committed to give temples and spiritual tourism a boost apart from sun, sand and sea tourism.
The Chief Minister was speaking at a programme after offering prayers at the Sai Baba Temple at Margao on Saturday.
Complementing the Sai Baba Temple Trust led by Saiesh Rajadyax for its yeoman service to society, the Chief Minister appealed to other temples across the State to emulate the good work done by the Sai Baba Temple Trust, Margao. “There may be some temples, which are involved in social work. But, I feel if all the temples focus on sectors such as health and education, Goa will witness a revolution in these sectors,” he added.
Margao MLA Digambar Kamat, Rajya Sabha MP Sadanand Shet Tanavade, Curchorem MLA Nilesh Cabral and others were present at the programme.
