Valpoi police has intensified checks at the border check post in Keri-Sattari and only those tourists with a Covid-negative certificate were allowed to enter into the State.
According to Valpoi Police Inspector Sagar Ekoskar, police began a strict check at the Keri check post following directives from the State government.
“All vehicles arriving from Karnataka were strictly checked for Covid-19 negative certificates or vaccination certificates before entering the State border,” said PI Ekoskar.
“Police teams will be deployed 24x7 at the check post till further directives,” he added.
However, only those vehicles carrying essential supplies like vegetable, milk and foodgrains have been given exemption to enter the State.
Meanwhile, it is learnt that the Karnataka government has set up a check post near Kankumbi to check for vehicles arriving from Goa.
