State govt expects repairs to be finished by Monday
PANAJI
The State government has announced that the restoration work on the breached Tillari Dam canal is 80 percent complete.
Repairs are expected to be finished by Monday, and regular water supply will resume soon.
On Friday, Water Resources Minister Subhash Shirodkar, along with WRD Chief Engineer Pramod Badami, Maharashtra’s Tilari Irrigation Project Officer Vinayak Jadhav, and other officials, visited the site to assess the progress of the work.
A major breach in the Tillari canal at Kudase, Dodamarg, Maharashtra, on January 24, caused a serious disruption in the supply of raw water to Goa’s treatment plants, affecting water availability across Bardez taluka.
The breach stopped the flow of raw water from the Tillari canal, which is essential for the operation of several treatment plants that supply drinking water to Bardez.
