MAPUSA
A local court in Mapusa has remanded Paul Fonseca, the accused in the alleged kidnapping and sexual assault of an 11-year-old boy from Tivim, to four days in police custody.

The arrest was made by the Colvale police following a complaint lodged by the minor’s mother.

According to police sources, the accused allegedly lured the child and later subjected him to physical assault by sexually abusing him. He is also accused of issuing threats to the victim, warning him of dire consequences if he spoke out about the incident.

Police believe that Fonseca may have targeted multiple minors, particularly from underprivileged backgrounds.

Sources indicate that he allegedly enticed young boys with eatables and gifts before engaging in abusive acts. Authorities are now working to identify other possible victims and gather further evidence to strengthen the case against him.

The incident came to light when the child’s mother approached the Colvale police station, filing an official complaint on Wednesday. The police acted swiftly, arresting the accused and presenting him before the Mapusa court, which ordered his remand.
