Goa’s tourism season officially kicked off today with the arrival of two charter flights from Russia at Manohar International Airport, Mopa.

The first Aeroflot flight, arrived from Moscow with 210 passengers, followed by a second flight — from Yekaterinburg, carrying 139 passengers, scheduled for 9am.

Despite the tourism season still being in its early stages, the arrival of these tourists has sparked excitement in the local tourism sector. Reports indicate that visitors from both domestic and international backgrounds are already exploring the coastal areas and engaging in offshore tourism activities.

Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte extended a warm welcome to the arrivals, emphasising the government's commitment to providing comprehensive facilities and ensuring the safety of all tourists. He urged local Panchayat and Municipalities to address any inconveniences faced by tourists, promising that the Tourism Department would work to resolve these issues.

The welcome event at the airport featured a lively performance of folk dance.
