Traditional Shigmotsav in   Sattari begins from today

Shimgotsav in Sattari taluka will begin from Friday, with different traditional festivals to be celebrated during the week.

Shimgotsav is celebrated in almost all villages in Sattari taluka, while different traditional festivals are celebrated like Rangpanchami, Ghodemodani, Palkhi and Kalash Utsav,

The traditional Chorotsav festival at Zarme in Mauxi, which will be celebrated on Friday, is considered a unique festival in the State. Punaji Gawas of Zarme said the Chorotsav festival will take place from 6 pm to 10 pm.

The Ghodemodni festival at Masordem will be celebrated on March 20. The festival will start at 6 pm and the procession will enter Valpoi town after seeking blessings at the village temple in Masorde. After that, the Ghodemodni festival will be celebrated in front of the Shri Hanuman Mandir at Valpoi.

The Karanzhol Chorotsav festival will be celebrated on March 23. The celebrations will begin at 7 pm while the Palkhi festival will be held on Monday. The villagers have invited devotees and people to participate in the festival.

The Holi festival at Koparde will be celebrated on Friday. This is a traditional festival which will begin at 3 pm and will involve the participation of devotees from the village and other villages in the taluka. A special Dindi will be organised during this festival.
