A truck driver Gavi Siddhaya from Karnataka was seriously injured when two cargo trucks collided head-on on the national highway at Durgini-Dharbandora around 11 pm on Thursday.
As per the information given by the police, the truck with registration number KA-37-B-5586 was proceeding towards Ponda from Karnataka. The driver lost control of the vehicle at Durgini, and collided head on with the other truck bearing registration number KA-22-C-1287 coming in the opposite direction. The injured driver, who was trapped in the truck's cabin, was pulled out by other motorists and admitted to the Pillye Primary Health Centre. After preliminary treatment he was shifted to Goa Medical College at Bambolim for further treatment. The Collem police conducted the panchnama of the accident.
