CANACONA
The UK woman who was found dead in a mysteriously manner in an isolated portion of the Church property at Agonda late Tuesday evening died from injuries after falling from a height.
According to Canacona Police, the post-mortem conducted on the body of Emma Louise (45) on Thursday revealed that the death was caused due to a damage to the cervical spine and an injury to the brain.
“In a bid to cross over, the woman had apparently climbed the compound wall and had a bad fall and perhaps remained unattended, causing her death. It looks like she attempted to rest against the wall, and the circumstances in which the body was found points to this,” said Canacona Police Inspector Chandrakant Gawas.
“As I said earlier, there is certainly no foul play in the death of the woman. According to doctors, even the rash injuries noticed are post her death and mostly caused by some insects and ant bites.”
He informed that the post-mortem examination has specified that the death had been caused about 48 hours before the body was found.
According to another police source, the woman may had a fall and died sometime between 12 am and 12 pm on Monday.
To another query, Canacona PI Gawas ruled out speculations that the woman may have died elsewhere and that the body was later taken to an isolated portion of the Church property at Agonda.
“There is no truth to this claim. The deceased in her attempt to enter the private property from the beachside had climbed the wall. She fell off the wall and damaged her cervical spine and sustained injuries to her brain. She remained there unattended, resulting in her death later,” said PI Gawas.
