Stanley George of Captain George Consultancy, who has been accused in the US emigration scam, is currently out of the State and unavailable for investigation, sources at Vasco Police Station have confirmed.

Additionally, the consultancy’s office in New Vaddem, Vasco, remains closed.

“The accused is not in Goa presently, and his office is also closed. The police have served a notice for his presence in the investigation, but his advocate has informed us that he is out of State and unavailable,” a source from Vasco police revealed.

The notice, which was received by George’s father, has been responded to by his lawyer, stating that the accused will return in the first week of March.

“We have begun our investigation and are gathering various details related to the case,” the police source added.

It may be recalled that a major emigration scam came to light when two Goans complained that they were cheated of Rs 18.5 lakh after being falsely promised jobs in the US. Instead, they were deported from the US after being caught by US border officials at the Mexico border while attempting to cross illegally into the country.

Vasco police had later booked George under Section 420 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for cheating and Sections 10 & 24 of the Emigration Act, 1983 for illegal emigration.
