According to Vasco PI Nolasco Raposo, the 21-year-old accused, whose house was raided, is involved in the theft that took place in a flat at Rangavi Estate at Bogmalo on December 26.
PI Raposo said the police have identified another five accused who were also involved in the theft case, but are absconding. “It appears that the accused might have sold some stolen items from the flat at Rangavi Estate at Bogmalo and has given the cash to his mother,” stated PI Raposo.
“The accused was earlier involved in various thefts at Vasco and at Verna and is presently absconding. We earlier arrested two persons from Zuarinagar,” added Raposo.
The police said they have recovered seven mobile phones, GPS tracking system, cameras, nine wrist watches, sunglasses, a wooden box containing Indian and foreign coins, jewellery, cash of Rs 66,000 and some US dollars and Omani Rial. Police is investigating the case.
