Governor PS Sreedharan Pillai will be initiating an ancient Ayurvedic method to rejuvenate the decaying trees at the Raj Bhavan estate on the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 74th birthday on September 17.

Known as Vriksha Ayurved Chikitsa or Vriksha Poshan, this treatment will enhance the nourishment of seven fruit-bearing trees at Raj Bhavan that are more than 100 years old and restore their health. After getting a new lease of life, the decaying trees would bounce back with health and get rid of the infections.

This ancient method of treating the trees is lesser known to the world and hence this unique therapy would be demonstrated at the Raj Bhavan as a mission to save age-old trees using traditional methods. Ayurvedic conservationist doctors from Kerala have been invited to carry out the treatment to inspire the public and educate the youth to conserve and preserve the natural heritage in Goa.

On this day, Raj Bhavan would be offering prayers in the church, poojas in the temples and Gaushalas seeking the blessings of God for the good health of the Prime Minister, his dedicated service to the nation and for achieving his grand vision of ‘Viksit Bharat’ and the programme will be attended by the Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, Dr PM Varier, managing trustee of Kottakkal Arya Vaidya Sala, Kerala and Devidas Varier, managing director, Coimbatore Arya Vaidya Pharmacy, Tamil Nadu.

The programme will begin with prayers in the Raj Bhavan chapel, puja in the Raj Bhavan Gaushala and temple, followed by Vriksha Pooja, Vriksha Poshana Yoga and Prachin Vriksha Ayurvedic Chikitsa on the beach road.

The event would close at the old Durbar hall.
