Despite frequent requests and appeals from locals, authorities are yet to regulate the drinking water supply to affected residents at Bombdimol, Kumari and Villian areas in Bhati village.
Except for the arrangement to supply drinking water through a tanker in the morning, the taps in the village continued to run dry with villagers eagerly keeping an eye to see water flowing from the taps.
A resident, Anil Kakodkar, informed that while efforts were made to supply water from an alternate source, it could not solve the problem as the water was muddy and not potable.
As residents continue to suffer and with the PWD not making much headway to resolve the problem, a delegation of villagers will now meet the department officials on Tuesday to inquire into the steps taken by the department to resolve the drinking water supply problem faced by the villagers.
