PORVORIM:
Porvorim police arrested a 30-year-old man from West Bengal on charges of possessing 1.745 kgs of Ganja worth Rs 1.75 lakh.
Acting on reliable information, Porvorim police conducted a raid at Betim and arrested Mohammad Sarkar who was allegedly found possessing 1.745 kgs of Ganja.
On investigation, it was revealed that the accused had travelled from West Bengal to Goa with the contraband and was supposed to deliver it to prospective customers in Goa.
Accordingly, an FIR has been registered against the accused under section 20(b)(ii)(B) of NDPS act 1985.
The raid was conducted by PSI Mayur Sawant and a team under the supervision of DySP Viswesh Karpe and SP (North) Akshat Kaushal. Further investigation is being conducted by PSI Mandar Parab.
