The Goa government on Wednesday told the Bombay High Court at Goa that it was withdrawing its requisition for the direct recruitment for the posts of Deputy Superintendent of Police and produced an order to that effect that was recently issued.
Based on the order withdrawing the requisition, the High Court disposed of the petition challenging the recruitment of people for the post of DySP through direct recruitment.
“The government produced an order whereby the government decided to withdraw the requisition for filling up of these direct recruitment to the post of DySP. That was taken on record by the HC and HC has disposed of the petition saying that these selections are not going to happen now as presently there is no cause of action for these people who had challenged this direct recruitment,” Adv Pangam said.
“So the petitions have been disposed of on the basis of the order of the government recalling the requisition of these posts,” he added.
“There is a process for change of the recruitment rules and these vacancies will have to be filled up based on these changed recruitment rules. There is the issue of age limit, etc. The government is renewing the entire thing and based on that the government will take a call about changing the rules and thereafter these vacancies will have to be filled up,” he said.
