PONDA:
A 68-year-old woman from Nirankal-Ponda drowned in a lake on Wednesday morning.
According to information received, Prabha Samant had gone out of her house at about 9 am and when she did not return home, the family started searching for her.
Her slippers were found near a lake and the fire station was alerted. Fire and Emergency Service personnel went to the site and retrieved the body, while a police team conducted the panchanama and sent the body for an autopsy.
PSI Pragati Malik is investigating the incident under the supervision of Ponda Police Inspector Vijaynath Kavalekar.
