Air passenger infaltes life jacket, causes panic

A passenger onboard Indigo Airlines flight No. 6E-6982 from Bengaluru to Goa was booked on charges of endangering passenger safety after inflating a life jacket mid-flight.

The incident occurred between 11.39 am and 12.28 pm on Sunday, while the aircraft was airborne.

The accused, identified as Anjaneya Prasad of Andhra Pradesh, was seated in seat No. 28C. Without provocation, he is alleged to have inflated the life jacket of the adjacent passenger, causing unnecessary panic and potential safety concerns for others onboard.

Prajakta Gawas, Assistant Manager of Security for Indigo Airlines at Goa International Airport, lodged a formal complaint, citing both a wrongful loss and the endangerment of passenger safety.

The offence has been registered at Dabolim Airport Police station U/Sec 125 and 324(1) of the BNS.

Further investigation is underway by PSI Prathamesh Palkar of Dabolim Airport Police station.
