Youth leader Prabhav Naik has sent a second reminder to South Goa Collector to undertake trimming of trees posing danger to the people of Aquem.

Pointing out that rains with gusty winds can bring down the branches causing disaster, Prabhav has warned that Government of Goa will be responsible for any untoward incident.

“I had written a Letter to South Goa Collector on 22nd July 2024 drawing his attention to the overgrown tree branches at Aquem posing danger to people. Collector immediately directed PWD to do the trimming with an Order dated 23rd July 2024," pointed Prabhav Naik.

He added: “It is shocking that the Public Works Department has failed to undertake the work in last three months. I understand that cheap politics is being played with a fear that credit will go to me if the branches are trimmed.”

Saying that weather condition in Goa has been very stormy these days and that Diwali festival is also very near, Prabhav said he is worried about the safety of senior citizens, children and public property.

Pointing out that he is not demanding the work for his personal benefit, Prabhav hoped the Collector will take immediate action, failing which he said he will write to Collector again and seek his permission to undertake the work engaging labours with his own cost.
