CANACONA: Canacona police have booked Margao-based businessman Datta Naik on charges of hurting religious sentiments, following his comments in an interview.
Satish Bhat of Poinguinim and a senior member of the Hindu Sanghatna accused Naik of using derogatory language against temples and hurting religious sentiments.
Acting on the complaint, Canacona police registered an offence and booked Datta Naik under Section 299 of BNS 2023.
The complaint is further investigated by PSI Rajashekhjar Reddy of Canacona Police Station.
