The Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (GBSHSE) on Saturday announced that the Class XII (HSSC) examination has been pushed forward by 10 days and will commence from February 10 next year instead of the February 1 that it had notified earlier.

The decision to postpone the examination by 10 days was taken in view of the possibility of a clash in schedule with the IIT joint entrance examination main (IIT-JEE) 2025.

Although the National Testing Agency (NTA) is yet to announce its dates, the IIT-JEE (Main) is usually held every year in late January or early February.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Velim MLA, Cruz Silva, had voiced the demand that the Board reschedule the HSSC exam dates due to a possible clash with IIT-JEE.

In a video he posted on his social media handles in early August, Silva had said that the Board reschedule the HSSCE time-table as several science stream students are focused on preparing and then answering the IIT-JEE which is usually held in January end or early February.
