Goa felt the heat on Saturday, with temperatures hitting day’s high of 34.4°C, creeping 1.9°C above normal, while the night stayed unusually warm at 25.2°C, a full 4.4°C above the average.
Humidity levels too peaked at a sticky 95 per cent -- 13 per cent higher than expected.
As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD) Goa, the maximum temperature is expected to remain at 34°C till February 26, with a possible rise to 35°C on February 27-28.
The minimum temperature is likely to range between 24°C and 25°C and humidity is expected to be around 80 per cent during this period. The overall weather conditions are projected to remain above normal.
The IMD has forecast shallow to moderate fog on Sunday and Monday mornings, followed by dry weather for the rest of the day.
Dry conditions are expected to persist till the end of the month, with the prevailing weather conditions attributed to easterly winds at lower atmospheric levels over Goa.
