It couldn't have been a luckier time for a couple from Assagao who were on a short, week-long holiday in Kashmir alongwith their two-year-old son but left the picturesque valley just 48 hours before the terror attack at the Baisaran Valley -- they are safe in their Assagao home but told The Goan that they are still having anxiety attacks just thinking of what may have been their fate if they were there at the spot when the dastardly attack which killed 26 tourists and a local happened.
"We were there. Exactly the same place where the terror attack and shooting massacre happened only a week earlier," said Amit while expressing shock over the fate of those tourists killed in the massacre.
"I along with my wife, son, and a friend's family, had gone to Srinagar from Delhi on April 14. We boarded a flight back to Delhi on April 20.
"It was all fine during our stay in Kashmir. We visited Pehlgaon on the previous Tuesday. Seven days later, this terrible terror attack happened. It is sad that so many unsuspecting and innocent tourists have lost their lives. I am shocked even if I and my family didn't face the tragedy," Amit added even as he described the area where the terror attack took place as picturesque, calm and peaceful.
