PANAJI:
The Goa government had allowed the use of loudspeakers or public address systems during night hours, specifically from 10 pm to 12 midnight from November 21-26 and during Christmas week December 24-26 across the entire state.
In a statement issued, the government said that permission will be granted only on a case-by-case basis, following an application from the relevant Village Panchayat, Municipal Corporation, Municipal Council, or any recognized individual or entity.
The approval process will require individual or organizational requests to be reviewed and authorized, it said.
All guidelines under the Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rules, 2000 must be followed. Authorities will monitor noise levels during these events and take action if any violations occur.
