In a shocking incident, a woman forced her minor children to consume a floor cleaner and later consumed it herself in an attempt to end their lives.
According to reports, the woman who hails from Gadag-Karnataka but resides in Socorro decided to take the drastic step on Monday night, when she forced her 3-year-old and 5-year-old sons to consume the floor cleaner. She later consumed the floor cleaner herself.
All three took ill and the woman later realised the gravity of the situation and informed her husband and relatives.
Family members later shifted all three to a private hospital in Porvorim, from where the two sons were shifted to Goa Medical College Hospital at Bambolim for further treatment.
Porvorim Police registered an offence against the mother under Section 109 of BNS 2023 and Section 8(2) of Goa Children’s Act 2003 for having made attempts to murder her two minor sons.
Preliminary investigation reveals that the mother acted impulsively due to illness. All are out of danger. Further investigation is in progress by PSI Lorraine Sequeira under the guidance of Police Inspector Rahul Parab.
