The Bombay High Court at Goa has prodded the state government and two neurosurgery specialists -- Manguesh Shingade and Rajan Pandya -- to arrive at a solution that would be in “everybody’s interest” after the two doctors approached the High Court seeking a posting as superspecialists in the Goa Medical College.

“At this stage, we only observe that it would be in everybody's interest if these matters are sorted out and the Petitioners are offered a posting commensurate with their qualifications as Super Specialists in Neurosurgery,” the High Court said.

“These are not matters which must be viewed from a strictly legalistic approach, but the State must consider that the services of the Petitioners, who are Super Specialists in Neurosurgery, are adequately utilized.

"Such utilization will not benefit just the Petitioners, but will also benefit the needy patients, who require services of qualified Neurosurgeons.

"Accordingly, we post these matters on the 6th of May, expecting that some decision would be taken in these matters by keeping in mind various observations made by this Court,” the High Court also said.
