In a move to enforce strict compliance with transfer orders, the Goa Police sought compliance reports from in-charges of all police stations and units regarding transfers effected in 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023.
Superintendent of Police (Headquarters) on Thursday directed all concerned officers to submit reports along with relieving orders of transferred personnel on Friday. A meeting in this regard has been scheduled at the headquarters at 4 pm, where the reports must be submitted 'without fail.'
The directive comes following instructions from Director General of Police (DGP) Alok Kumar, who had made it clear that transfer orders are non-negotiable.
In February, the department had also issued a stern warning that salaries would only be processed at the new place of posting to ensure compliance of transfer orders.
The Goan has consistently highlighted instances where several police personnel and officers have continued to remain at their previous postings despite transfer orders.
The defiance of transfers have persisted despite the reshuffle of 1,384 personnel last year, covering ranks from constable to sub-inspectors. The department had cited that Exposition of the Relics of St Francis Xavier, International Film Festival of India and other major events held back the shift but were subsequently relieved.
