Panaji: A Qatar Airways flight, recently shifted to Mopa Airport, was diverted to Dabolim early Tuesday due to bad weather. The flight, carrying 131 passengers, safely landed at 2:21 am, with Dabolim’s 24/7 taxi services ensuring smooth transport for passengers.
The incident has sparked renewed calls to bring more international flights back to Dabolim, which is praised for its central location, better weather conditions, and superior visibility. “If not for Dabolim Airport, the nearest international airport for Goa would have been Mumbai, which would cause severe inconvenience to passengers,” a source said.
This diversion has further intensified the debate over the future of Goa’s two airports.
