A technical glitch in the server has caused significant delays in the monthly distribution of food grains to ration card beneficiaries in the State, with the department of civil supplies informing that the same would be provided only after February 10.
In a press statement issued on Thursday, Director civil supplies Jayant Tari said the beneficiaries under Public Distribution System may face difficulties in getting the food grains within the prescribed time limit in current month on account of unforeseen technical issues faced in the computer system and network server at the level of Food Corporation of India for more than a week.
“The Department of Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs is making all efforts to restore the disrupted supply chain on account of the above issues,” he said.
On Wednesday, the transportation of food grains begun following restoration of technical glitches. “Though the Department is making every possible effort to deliver the food grains to the Fair Price Shops in time, the actual distribution in some Fair Price Shops may get delayed by further 5-6 days,” Tari said.
Accordingly, the PDS beneficiaries are requested to visit the respective Fair Price Shop preferably after February 10 to access their monthly quota.
