PANAJI: The Department of Tourism has announced the return of its flagship event, the Spirit of Goa Festival, now in its sixth edition. Scheduled to be held from May 2 to 4, 2025, at the SAG Ground in Colva, the festival will spotlight the state’s thriving homegrown spirit industry and culinary heritage.

Speaking to the media, Tourism Director Kedar Naik said the festival is aimed at promoting local distilleries and providing a platform to celebrate Goa’s traditional flavors. “This festival is about more than just spirits. It’s about connecting people through food, music, and the Goan way of life,” he said. He added that the event will also feature masterclasses on traditional Goan food and cocktail-making, offering both entertainment and education for attendees.

A major highlight of the festival is the Feni Experience Centre, where leading Goan distilleries will display their signature brews. Festivalgoers can also take part in cashew stomping, enjoy live craft demonstrations, and catch performances by Goan bands.

GTDC General Manager Gavin Dias stated that the weekend schedule was designed to make the festival more accessible to families. “We want to ensure the event is inclusive and family-friendly,” he said.

The tourism department has called on locals and tourists to attend in large numbers and support the initiative, which seeks to position Goan spirits and culture at the forefront of the state’s tourism offerings.
