Two held in attempted murder case over ancestral property dispute

Panaji: Anjuna police have arrested two persons Digamber Narayan Salkar (54) and Akhil Suresh Tekkekar (33), in connection with an attempt to murder case. The arrests were made based on a complaint filed by Maria Theodore, a woman from Assagao, alleging that her husband and son were brutally attacked over an ancestral property dispute.

According to the complainant, the property in question originally belonged to her grandmother and she is the legal heir. However, another person is reportedly claiming ownership of the property. The dispute escalated into violence and subsequent police case.

North SP Akshat Kaushal informed that an attempt-to-murder case has been registered with the arrest of two persons so far. More arrests will happen, the officer said.
