CANACONA: Vishwajit Varik was on Sunday re-elected unopposed as the President of Loliem-Polem Communidade.
The new managing committee, which was also elected unopposed for the term 2025-2027, consisted of Bhushan B Prabhu Gaonkar (Attorney), Madhav V P Shastri (Treasurer), Chandrakant Prabhu Gaonkar (Substitute President), Ramakant Prabhu Gaonkar (Substitute Attorney) and Mahesh V Varik (Substitute Treasurer).
“The focus of the new managing committee will be on sustainable projects and to bring green revolution on Loliem-Polem Comunidade land,” said Warik, after getting re-elected unopposed for yet another term.
Speaking further, Warik said, “People are happy with my work and all the decisions taken by me and my executive committee are for the betterment of the Communidade and the villagers. Furthermore, I will ensure that all decisions taken in the prior term will be completed soon. I thank all the ‘Zonkara’ for re-imposing their faith in me and our team.”
“Our priority is to utilise the uncultivable and a lot of barren Communidade land of Loliem-Polem village by introducing non-polluting green projects to promote sustainable development in our village. This is a significant step towards the village’s growth and environmental conservation.”
